ECE Virtual Reality Application – Terms of Use Statement

Purpose and Permitted Use

This Virtual Reality Application (“Application”) was developed as part of an applied research project and is intended solely for use by students as part of their experiential learning within the Early Childhood Education (ECE) academic program. Use of the Application is limited to its intended educational and research purposes and must align with all applicable institutional policies.

User Responsibilities and Compliance

By accessing or using this Application, users agree to comply with:

  • All terms and conditions governing the use of the Application;
  • Any applicable terms, licenses, or conditions associated with embedded third-party software;
  • All institutional policies, codes of conduct, and acceptable use standards;
  • All applicable provincial and federal legislative requirements.

Failure to comply with these obligations may result in restricted access to the Application and/or further institutional action.

Intellectual Property Rights

The Application and all associated content, materials, and software are protected by intellectual property and copyright laws. All intellectual property rights remain with the College and/or the Granting Agency.

Users are strictly prohibited from:

  • Copying, reproducing, distributing, or publishing the Application or any portion thereof;
  • Modifying, manipulating, reverse engineering, or decompiling the Application;
  • Creating derivative works based on the Application;
  • Embedding, integrating, sublicensing, or using the Application in any manner beyond its expressly intended purpose.

No ownership rights are transferred to users through access or use of the Application.

Third-Party Software

The Application contains third-party software components. Users are responsible for complying with all applicable third-party license agreements and terms of use. The College makes no representations or warranties regarding third-party software beyond those provided by the respective licensors.

Limitation of Liability

The College accepts no responsibility or liability for any illicit, unauthorized, or prohibited use of the Application, or for any use beyond the scope for which the Application was designed. Users assume full responsibility for their conduct while using the Application.

Governing Law

The use of this Application is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
